Went through 5 rounds of interviews and now getting ghosted by the recruiter

Also saw the job reposted on LinkedIn today. F*ck you ass holes at least have the courtesy to tell me you've decided not to make me an offer after forcing me to go through all that sh*t.

This is your daily reminder to give 0 respect to any employer/company. All of them are c*nts.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I wouldn't call it a hyper competitive industry. Before the recession fears I literally got offered the same job with every interview I had. Not exaggerating it was like 5 straight companies I interviewed with all hired me in 2021 and 2022, never got rejected from any of them. Now I can't get sh*t for some reason. Same position and I have even more experience. None of this makes sense right now.

Now I barely even get people offering to interview from my applications and finally when I did with this one I legit felt like I was killing it with each round, they all loved me. It's not in my head either I know the difference between when I've done well and when I tanked an interview. I was like 95% confident I would get an offer from this place and now I'm getting ghosted and the position has been reposted online.

What. The. F*ck is happening lately? The strangest part is if it was reposted it's not as if I just got beat out by a stronger candidate. They literally just decided to keep looking. Really does not add up to me.

I know man...what i don't get is how many rounds of interviews do these people need in order to make a decision? When I'm hiring, I go at most two rounds (I'll have someone on my team interview first so I can get some additional feedback from someone who will have to work alongside the candidate) but often just sort through resumes myself, pick people to interview, and do the actual interview myself.

One way to think of it, call it cope if you want, but I think these clowns that go multiple interviews and then ghost candidates -- it's indicative of the company culture. They don't value people as individual contributors, they don't care about peoples' time, they have layers of bull**** bureaucracy and fk fk games, and guaranteed it would be the same or worse once you are on the inside. So in a sense, be thankful that you probably dodged a bullet (not saying it doesn't still suck).

Damn dude....that sucks.

Last time I was in the hunt I was interviewing with 2 companies, relatively same position......Company 1: over the course of 2 months I interviewed 3 times over the phone & 2 in persons, then they just would call me every week to tell me "we want to hire you, we're just waiting for the budget approval"...that went on for 2 months, so after 4 & 1/2 months they sent me an offer letter. Im actually still working for that company right now.

At the same time....I had 1 phone interview and 2 in person interviews with company 2, after my last interview the director called and said "I think you're a good fit, Ill have HR reach out to you soon".......a week goes by nothing, I email the director...no response, 2 weeks, I follow up again with email and this time a phone call....nothing. Got offer from Company #1 so I said Eff it...........2 months goes by with absolutely 0 contact and I get a call from a random number, I answer....it's Company #2 making me a verbal offer and wants me to start in 3 days. I lol'd them off the phone.

I honestly agree. I've reached the point where I'm saying the same thing to another member of the team that they wanted me to interview with. Seems very unnecessary for me to meet with so many different people answering the same questions over and over. It's been a very inefficient process. In 2021 and 2022 when I was getting offers for everything I had a max of 3 rounds (recruiter, hiring manager, larger team presentation or group interview). That was the model and it worked fine. Especially since the recruiter round barely even counted as an interview because they were very basic.

It really feels like these companies don't need to hire people like they did before and these aren't real interviews.... but why would they waste their own time if that was the case? So that doesn't make sense either. The entire process the last few months of trying has felt very off.

I'm going to be honest I actually considered this. Normally I'm not the type of person to blame something like that but the last round of interview that I had was a chat with two members of the team who were minority females living on the west coast (aka liberal)....

All the other rounds prior to that were white people.

Unless you're honestly looking for a new path, might be fun to try it just for gits and shiggles.

Boyo, at my company, we do the same thing: Make candidates go through multiple rounds of interviews, and then we ghost them and repost the job opening.

We do this because we're just trying to fill our calendars with pointless meetings to pretend like we're working. And sadly, candidates are used as pawns in our game of timewasting.

Sorry, boyo, you got used as a pawn in someone else's game. But sadly, it's an aspect of jobhunting that you have to deal with.

Don't read too much into the LinkedIn reposting. Sometimes they repost because they have limits on them and are either autoreposted or manually just for the sake of it.

Either way, the ghosting chit is infuriating as all hell. Recruiters and HR have little respect for people even though they all virtue signal constantly on LinkedIn. Good luck bruh, you'll get where you should be.

Yep i've been getting a lot of this too.

They either;

-Have so many applicants they don't have time to email you to tell you, you weren't selected (yes, its possible you were one of many "5-round interview" candidates.)
-They didn't get the funding approved for the position and its been closed
-They decided to fill the role internally.

and these are the same companies bitching about a lack a loyalty and think "pizza parties" is a sufficient reward for their Q4 record profits.
