ITT: who's training this weekend? (lifters GTFIH) (DYEL welcome)

Hit a pretty intense push day yesterday morning bright and early at 7am after intense pre-workout shovelling cardio (srs). Got a dump of easily 25cm snow overnight before. Pretty sore today from all the shovelling and the lifting session, so taking it easy. I'm constantly on the go and rushed so my training sessions often become slightly truncated as a result. I take less time between sets and it sometimes turns into a veritable aerobic experience as well. Yesterday was such a day. Got an arnold cumming day and night-esque pump that felt great.

Anyone else lifting this weekend?

For your time.....the GOAT:

*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*

Nice. On my previous pull day, I also did weighted chinups and heavy t-bar rows. Both are staples of my back training.

Yesterday was chest & hamstrings. Today probably just pipes & delts.
I just got home i put the sauna on & will go after that.

Thinking just a couple sets of db curls, reverse curls & overhead dumbell extensions. Then isolating side delts with very small weight, like 10lbs for 8 sets.

Just left the gym now at breakfast.

Did legs and my Tabata recumbent bike workout. I really don’t take any days off anymore but for me everyday is Saturday.

I'll be doing upper and my PT leg stuff plus some shallow squats, RDL's and bodyweight leg ext. Trying to get my injured leg quads built back up since I need another surgery. My MRI showed my repair failed.I'll also go outside and try to walk for 10 or so min. I can't do much more than that without a lot of pain.

I remember my own leg injury and the lengthy recovery process accompanied by the uncertainty and frustration and impatience.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Thanks! It's been srsly awful. I hate being inactive. I've spent my whole life working out and doing cardio and I can barely do anything now. Without doing real leg workouts I don't get those great natural endorphins and now after 3 months of this I have to go through another surgery and another recovery period. At least with the clean up it's not supposed to be as long of a recovery period. Thank God I've managed to not gain weight or I'd be really angry. lol

Not technically lifting today but after I fix our upstairs toilet, gonna do some speed training for Golf. You don’t get to a point where you hit it further than most pros without. Consists of dynamic movements with bands or cables to work the muscles primarily used in the golf swing. Picked up 15 mph on my swing from beginning of last year to end of this year. Along with 100 pushups. Lifting is Tuesday through Friday, and speed training once a weekend and try to golf once a weekend too ( snow on the ground so a buddy is letting me use his sim, or I’ll go to a local place with a simulator.)
*Updated* If you can't hit a 320 yard drive, are you even a man?

Thanks! I've done everything I'm supposed to after my surgery. Apparently this repair has a 30% fail rate. If I'd known that before the surgery I prob would have just said clean it up and don't try to repair it. Just sucks I've wasted 3 months of my life with this and have to go through it all over again.

I know them feels. Had 4 operations on my right hip. And had it dislocate 3 months ago. Doc said don’t do more than 1/2 reps on squats until he sees me next month. Today I’m going deep for the 1st time since then and feel a pinch.

I did a couple full front lever holds, skin the cat in an L-sit to German hang rotations, back of hands on floor in a planche lean as well as slight lean with one arm back of hand on floor, pancake stretch with 70lbs weight vest moving into and out of and worked on my tibialis with my solo tib bar trainer yesterday.....and other stuff too. Still deciding what to do today, will do some stuff, probably more of the same minus using my weight vest again.

BALANCE!!! Gonna balance on my slack line. And other stuff.

I repaired my other knee without surgery with the "knees over toes guy" program but it took 1.5 years to fix it

Yep either need to knock out the lower body sesh that I missed on Friday or I want to do my "Monday" upper body day early.

OP short rest periods are the truth. I would very gladly prefer 30-45 sec for 2 sets to near failure than hit 3-5 big heavier sets with 90-120sec rests. Feels better and at least now as an oldy I think it gives me better gains. The absolute goat is DC style where you go to failure, rest for like 30 sec, go to failure, rest another 30 sec, and go to failure one last time. Brutal and gives insane results if you can handle the constant intensity.

I'd like to but I'm debating.

Right now it's like single digit temps out (or maybe below zero?) and my car is stuck, there's a bunch of snow under it.

I don't feel like digging it out, even called off work because I CBA to (plus I'm of tomorrow)

Definitely want to go in, and gym is only like two blocks away but IDK, next time I get in though I'm definitely doing squats.

Yeah that's rough! Didn't you make a thread about your hip dislocating? That sounds so panful.

I do take Vit D every day and I've been trying to go outside in the mornings when it's sunny for a 10 min walk. I also started krill oil over reg omegas, started collagen type II and I drink a cup of bone broth 5 days a week with collagen powder and gelatin powder added. With the repair having failed there's nothing I can do that will make it better without more surgery and now I have had my tibia drilled through for the anchor for nothing. Which really pisses me off. Can just pray that it doesn't cause life long issues.

Yeah, it’s happened a total of 6 times since 2006.
First, second and third I was in the hospital, so not too bad.

Fourth I was home in bed, had to wait for wife to come home. EMTs had to drag me down the stairs. Then when I got to the ER, staff was just being lazy. Sitting around talking about what to order for dinner, what they’ll be doing over the weekend. Took hours before they got to me. It wasn’t busy. That sucked.

Fifth I was home again, about a month after the fourth. Sitting in a recliner. I was able to get it back in my self. Brutal, but only lasted a couple mins.

Sixth was the recent one, I was in the shower. First time it happened while I was standing. I tried getting it back in, passed out from the pain and effort. Woke up on the shower floor. Wife on the phone with 911 screaming “I think he died”. But, this time hurt the worst. EMTs got to the house fast. Drugged me heavy. Got to the hospital quick. And was seen right away. Knocked me out and got it back in quick. ER doc said it was hard, and was about to give up. My ortho said they called him while he was enjoying happy hour.

Ugh that's awful! So sorry you've had to deal with that!
