LDAR is best lifestyle.

Brb no need to make effort planning dates and paying for dinner or getting rejected without even getting laid
Brb stay at home and game all day and save money from going out to bars and clubs
Brb never get disappointed by things not going your way because always have no expectations and just stay home all day

If you are a below average underachiever in a welfare state, LDAR is the rational choice.

LDAR might relate to career (being a NEET) property ownership (living with parents or rentcucking) or relationships (being an incel)

Not everyone responds to incentives put in front of them: e.g., those that fail out of college despite a free ride.

Not everyone who is an underachiever should LDAR in the welfare state, since that is a bottom of the barrel choice in life.

LDAR is never a "rational choice". It is the result of deeply traumatized folks who should read The Body Keeps the Score, and seek professional help. That alone would help dozens of the remaining regular posters on this forum.

I know folks who donate more to charitable causes per year than you earn.

I have learned minding my own business makes my life better. I don’t do it for anyone else. I recommend doing the same.




Pro tip, all we have to do is exist. There is literally no reason to drain yourself reaching goals that literally serve no purpose.


That collective mindset is why we are all insane doing things all day we hate doing.

True that. I didn’t get my message across correctly. Was trying to emphasize that it’s more relaxing to keep to myself and do my own thing, rather than putting in the work and effort in maintaining relationships. It seems more of a hassle nowadays than it does genuine.

that's insane. at the same time, also not shocking! oh well, it is what it is. I am a firm believer that we meet the right people we need to meet along the way. I'm a big fan of the "find your crowd" idea, and not every relationship will always "work out" I guess

uhhh definitely does not always work out that way in reality.

most people probably dont.

for me, my entire friend group got jealous and wanted part ownership in the business i was starting. they couldn't handle the thought of me leveling up like that or something.

literally all my closest friends suddenly became my competitors and dropped me as a friend srs.

making new friends at 30 years old is a weird thing. its like starting over from scratch and no one really knows who you are...
