Americans continue to walk away from both parties

Party favorability means absolutely nothing.

Gotta win independents.

Who do you think is more palatable in a general election? Lol.

I have a clue.

But, but my primaries.

The entire Trump movement was basically a walk away from the Republican party.

I'd say a lot of people have.

OP (like a broken clock and all) is right this time. Both parties are cancers.. The difference is we're taking the cancer out by removing cancerous cells like Bush, McStain, Romney, Paul, McConnell. Randhawa etc. from republican party.. While cancer in democratic party has become terminal.

Largely, but for some reason you're a "cultist"/"MAGA extremist"/[insert other derogatory term] for being on the right and not supporting the "reasonable"/acceptable/neocuck "Republicans".

OP's chart seems to show any walking away for Republicans ended in 2013, before Trump, and those who identify as Republican has maintained a slight upward trend ever since.

Other than maybe a 1/2 point uptick around 2017, Democrats have been distancing themselves from the party since 2007.

I'm guessing the difference in trends is education.

You give the GOP far too much credit and, while I'm not nearly as anti-Trump as the OP, you probably give him more credit that he deserves as well. However, you got it on the nose with the Democrats.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
