IRS is not a terrible agency to deal with, long as you're not running from them. Got audited once, had all my shiet in order, found them easy to work with, and it was not near as big of a deal as people make it out to be.

Just be upfront with them about where you stand. If you can't afford to pay it all at once, I'm sure they would offer to put you on a payment plan.
