To the naming convention?

For gamers it's understandable.but to the average consumer buying for themselves or their kids.

You have Xbox one x, Xbox one s , Xbox one series x Xbox one series S.

Sony at least kept it simple psx 3 psx 4 psx 4 pro psx 5 psx 5 pro. The naming explains its self.

I think it's fine, seems pretty obvious what is what. PS is always the easiest and most straightforward with their naming. Nintendo has always done whatever, I think the Wii U was probably one of the worst names for a console.

Yeah it’s dumb. I have an old gaming magazine from 2004 laying around somewhere that had a huge section of “inside info” on the next generation at the time. Xbox 360 was originally going to be a different name. I forget now but it was like how Sega had the Genesis and Saturn. Something distinct and captivating. They overthought everything.
