Basketball has the worst fans of any sport.

I have never seen a sport where the average players come from utter poverty but the fans are all trying to show off how flashy rich they are, despite not actually being all that rich. Like this is the basketball fan base from my experience.

1. Every white person who wants to prove to you how cool, hip, and "down" they are. Almost always a liberal.

2. Every black dude who is well past his days of playing any sport but wants to sound like an expert, like imagine multiple Stephen A Smith clones.

3. Every chick who is on her 10th round of botox and somehow manages to look ratchet and trashy despite her background.

4. Some international and foreign people, usually Asian, trying to fit in and enjoy the sport.

I cannot for the life of me understand how a sport full of players that usually come from nothing manages to have fans that act like they are millionaires all of a sudden.

Sad thing is, basketball is actually a beautiful sport in some ways.

Travel outside the USA, you'll find the devoted fanbase for basketball drops off rapidly.


Soccer, on the other hand, is the world game. Anyone can play it and be good at it, even if you literally live in the slums of Mogadishu. You don't need to be a 7ft tall Gumby to become a proficient soccer player, nor do you need to have any wealth or anything like that.



Soccer > All US centric sports.

the courtside crew is so cringeworthy. everyone dressed like they are rappers (despite being white/asian). honestly going to an nba game and seeing how everyone dressed was eye opening to me.

and agree for some reason asian/immigrants love the nba/thug culture. its that weird cross section where asians/indians are more likely to be into rap/nba/streetwear culture than traditionally "white" culture.

One of my good friend's dad has season tickets to the NBA. Their seats are like 10th row, the particular section has this area where you get as much free food and beer as you want included.

I'm sure these tickets are like $15,000 each for the entire season, so clearly anybody having them needs a certain level of income. It's genuinely some of the more nouveau riche people you could possibly imagine sitting around you. Obese dads with their obnoxious kids stuffing their face full of pizza and ice cream, lots of Kardashian-looking girls, etc. It's really surprising once you're there. Another friend who is a Physician went to a game with us, and he made a hilarious comment, "These seats are basically America in a nutshell"

NBA fans are basically grown children.

What is weird is that these same Asian and Indians are not being accepted by black culture which hates them with a passion. Like look at what happened with Jeremy Lin and the racism he endured. Meanwhile, football culture and the Middle America culture is way more likely to accept these guys. Sad to see.

Add horse racing but it gets me how F1 is a relatively new sport but has a lot of old money in it. I have been to F1 events and it is definitely a vibe. You will not find trashy women at those races to the same degree like you would at a basketball game for example.

I am surprised that he did not see a lot of wiggers and wannabe cool white guys at these events. If there is one demographic that floods these events, it is the Logan Paul types. If you see a Tom Brady at a basketball game, it is because he was dragged into coming to one.

Basketball is the embodiment of the phrase that money does not buy you class.

hockey, baseball and college football have nice fans too. family friendly, with nice people.

Man we must be the same person to some degree lol.

College football fans are quality people, cannot say the same of college BBall fans. I have met a lot of cool fans from various schools and CFB Saturdays are something else.

NFL can be annoying and low class in terms of fans but they are still approachable and chill people. You do not get the snobby behavior that you get from ratchet NBA fans.

I completely disagree. Cucked white guys are overrepresented in the NBA fan group while the white guys into NFL can at least be trumpers that are alpha. NFL Fans are way better.

theres a certain type of courtside fashion that always makes me lol

its nearly ALWAYS some mid 50s white/asian boomer male (since they are only people rich enough to buy them).
they always wear some jeans, hideous outlandish sneakers with loud colors (to be HIP!), and then ugly "going out shirt" that doest fit their age.

its so so so cringe. wouldn't be caught dead looking like that at age 50 srs
