The goat career path is car sales

Now this doesn’t apply to all brands and all markets but I was at a Ford dealer yesterday talking to a buddy of mine who switched there from another dealer. (The other dealer is a customer of mine)

Anyways there’s multiple people at his dealership that are selling upwards of 60 cars a month. They have their own assistants and everything.

To put this context they’ve been working for the dealer 20+ years and have a large clientele of lease returns and referral business.

Each of the salespeople I’m talking about make upwards of 70k a month.

No the big money long term is in new. Sure the commissions may be higher in used but you don’t get the repeat business. The book of business you develop over time with leases makes for a huge chunk of residual income.

99% of guys dont make that much or sell anywhere close to that many cars. 10 a month would be considered good.

i did it for a few years. It was ok but the reality if it is if you want the bosses son to be your boss, you will love it.

If its not the bosses son it will be his friends or guys who are like them.

They never take blame for anything and always blame you for anything that happens.

This is much close to reality than 60 cars a month.
