Well, he was stupid enough to stick his arm into the cage of a wild bear, so maybe he's just stupid enough to be able to saw his own arm off at a moment's notice.

I was in a similar situation where my golf cart rolled on my right foot and pinned me against a wall. Instead of panicking I reached over to the pedal and move the cart forward with my hand. My foot was sore and I got scratches but I powered through it like a beast.

Stabbing a bear in the face while it's wrenching your other arm off is easier said than done. Dude would have been risking losing the other hand, and he already had a cage in between them that made fleeing a legit option.

The real question is, why do these hippie idiots think they can put their arms into the cage of an apex predator and expect the same results as if it were a house cat in there? Why wouldn't this dope have used long metal tongs or something to put the bear's food through the cage instead of his own arm? Idiots abound.
