Seems like every guy that goes to prison gets pretty jacked on limited calories and ~50gms protein per day.

I'm thinking Because in prison you aren't very active outside the limited recess time which most guys spend in the gym..then they are resting most of the day/night.

Outside world a person is much more active and requires that much more calorie/protein intake

this also there is a hierarchy usually termed something like "pay to play" meaning you have to kick up, especially the new guys

so then the bulked guys who run the place can buy protein & what not plus there's guys you forget in there doing sometimes multiple life sentences

then they also always identify who has money & so they can stockpile & these things & yeah, that's how some guys do it

plus there is even gas in prison

I came in to post that they must be getting that protein fromsomewhere.....

But seriously, dudes juice in jail. They can smuggle anything in there. If you've ever known anyone that worked in the system or as a CO, the stories are wild. Near-genius level ingenuity and creativity. It's not all sticking things up your bunghole or snowballing it out of your sloot's mouth during visitation.

I used to jam with a musician who's wife was a CO.

I don't know about America but in UK jails you can buy protein shakes, kielbasa, tuna and sardines, after a couple months of good behaviour getting put on enhanced wing there were double servings of lunch and as much milk as you could carry. Plus you could get somebody debted on vapes and charge "double bubble" where next canteen they payed twice the amount in tuna or anything else you wanted off their canteen sheet. Easy to get over 120g protein a day.
