What makes classics so good is that there is a universal aspect to them that resonates across groups and across time, because they connect deep in the psyche of the human spirit. When someone comes along and tries to re-imagine them while focusing on a more narrow aspect, they lose the magic. We see it over and over yet they continue to do it. In many ways art has been subverted by those who wish to weaponize it. In many instances the priority is no longer to tell a great story, but rather to push a certain agenda. Not saying that will be the case with these, but if I was a gambling man that’s what I’d put my money on.

Please don't give them any ideas. They will cast that fish face Rachel Zegler for the lead.

Thats just how unoriginal and uncreative the entertainment industry is becoming. Really sad.

80s-2010ish were the golden age of movies, especially the 90's IMO. Die Hards, con-air, face-off, etc...

I don't think they could make the Lollipop Guild any scarier than it already was.

It must suck for the big producers when a cell phone camera jackass makes more compelling content than they do.

Why can't blacks create their own classics? Or is Madea Goes to Jail just not cutting it?

I always thought the wizard of oz was about a girl who eventually realized how good her life was with all of her loved ones around.

So does this mean that some black girl is going to eventually realize she has it pretty good? Thats like 180 out from the narrative they are pushing.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
