Will San Fran Keep Declining or Will we see a bottom?

We all know SF has declined significantly with deterioration accelerating in the early 2010s when the tech companies came in and skyrocketed rents and incomes. Now we are seeing people & business leave, office prices get slashed, and condos/homes decline in the SF downtown. Is there a point that SF rebounds and is able to remove failing leadership or the price becomes so low that people are willing to live there? Or do you think it goes the way of Detroit? ( Seems hard to believe given weather etc)

There will always be plenty of people who want to live there. Will we regularly see RE up 20-25% per year again? Maybe not for a while, if ever. Maybe a slow grind down or even flat for years.

There is no saving SF and Oakland. The tech jobs are working from home, the entertainment is leaving (A's), restaurants are leaving (In-N-Out and Denny's) and there are even major drug stores (Walgreens) that refuse to do business in SF.

The residents and political leaders have decided the fate of that area and now they can sulk in it. They have nobody to blame but themselves.

It needs to burn to the ground, again. The business district is a ghost town. Every other building is completely empty.

Well, oakland has decended into chaos. SF is bad but not oakland bad. I do think that there is a low enough price that people would move back to SF even in this environment. Problem is, I think doom loop continues as office leases continue to not get renewed. If it ever gets to $1800 for a decent 1 bed in SF people will come back. Very unlikely it drops to that. Right now its probably 2500 for an average 1 bed. My guess is it goes to $2300 and bounces from there. We'll see.
