CONCLUSIONS
Overall, the findings of this study demonstrate that the ideal male buttocks have a lateral thigh–to-buttock ratio of 1.18, an oblique projection angle of 60 degrees, and a GTI of 0.66, with some variation among male respondent subgroups. Clinically, this translates to moderate lateral and oblique projection and fullness, with a defined trochanteric depression and more narrow gluteal width on the posterior view. Considerations for male gluteal augmentation should preserve a narrower width of the buttocks with a trochanteric depression to maintain a masculine aesthetic. These findings have important implications for surgeons when considering gluteal enhancement techniques and aesthetics for their patients and should serve as guiding parameters for optimal results and patient satisfaction.
