Sarah Bond will speak regarding MS strategy (Boxcels on watch)
According to Zenimax employee, Sarah Bond (Xbox Director), will speak in Spring to explain the change in Xbox's strategy regarding Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and other games going multi-platform.
-Metrics driven
-Internet discourse isn't 'considered', but concerns are valid
-re: 'considered' discourse, if looked at from a different angle there is missing information that you may not see
-Allusions to a very concise explanation by Xbox about the situation
-A secondary speaker mentions that other people 'who were concerned previously' are now saying we 'shouldn't be as concerned as we are'
-The 'Big 3' platform holders have the liberty of paving the road and laying the brick at the same time
-A lot of conversations around this kind of stuff, it's ongoing, everything discussed has been covered and/or has a clause around it
Will there even be an xbox console after the next generation?-Metrics driven

boxcels gonna have to buy a sony console to play their xbox titles or a pc since MS gonna go balls deep on gamepass and being a service/software driven company instead.

In all fairness, Xbox has been moving in this direction since the creation of GamePass, a focus on GamePass subscribers above all else. Only questions remain or how they handle "exclusivity" and their commitment to hardware as time goes on.

Starfield for PS5 Pro or PS6 should be a system seller.

This will likely be my last xbox console if it’s the direction they move, and I won’t believe them if they say it’s just a couple titles. They previously said their first party games would only be on places where game pass exists, which for consoles would just be Xbox.
Good luck on their future software endeavors, I think they will be successful, but this will long term kill their console business and they’ll be third party.

Been calling it on how the console market just isn't what it used to be, PC has been dominating and only gaining marketshare while consoles continue to lose popularity. If there is anything Microsoft knows, it's how to make money and moneymaxx hard. They pretty much have a monopoly on the PC gaming market, with Steam's Linux Proton support pretty much being the only real competition there. Outside of that smartphones have been dominating the gaming market, pretty much accounting for half of the money there.
The old days and the old approach to console platforms are basically over, this generation is pretty much marking the end of that with all the PC devices serving as gaming platforms themselves. Where do consoles like the Series X/S, PS5, and Switch stand? Well I guess you can suggest they need to carve out a niche for themselves, because trying to compete with exclusive games alone just isn't doing it when it comes to industry revenues. It's really just an outdated, old world way of looking at competition in the industry, favored by outsiders and fan groups on the internet.
The biggest question in the gaming industry today has been "how can we compete more with mobile" and everything regarding the fiscal success there. PC manages to cash in on that with its open internet and platform access as well as the wide variety of devices that can use its dominant platforms. Nintendo has managed to carve out a niche for themselves as a hybrid platform and dedicated low cost/powered handheld gaming platform, where a set standard for hardware performance and ease of use is its big selling point. I guess you could say Sony and Microsoft are offering the dedicated home offerings with that same selling point, but clearly they have both taken a different approach.
One thing to keep in mind is how unlike Sony, Microsoft still has a computer hardware division. Considering how Surface basically serves as Microsoft's hardware for ease of use and general computer access, it would only make sense to integrate Xbox hardware into serving a similar need. Xbox has already become an integrated part of Windows, with the Xbox controller having native support and basically serving as the default controller for PC gaming, and the Xbox app being a part of the modern Windows gaming experience, offering games and services that work across both the PC and Xbox platforms.
So how can a company like Microsoft justify being a part of something like game consoles anymore? Simple, make the hardware a part of your existing hardware division in a sense by tying it, just hardware sales to go along with software sales and usage. It's business, and the whole idea is to make money. Surface hardware isn't centered or marketed around gaming while Xbox hardware clearly is. So the end concept is simple: Surface devices for basic computer use, Xbox hardware for gaming use. Even the way the Series X/S is setup reflects that, with an "S" console for different markets that something like a Series X or PS5 wouldn't appeal to or sell well in. Heck with their talk of having a dedicated handheld before long, the S software requirement made it a lot easier for games to also work on a handheld. I could see them offering some sort of Surface Xbox tablet device with Xbox controls that could handle native Series S gaming.

I have said this before, but nobody plays Xbox or PC anymore. Almost all gaming fans now are Sonycels or Nintendocels. Been like this since i quit gaming back in the Halo 3 and COD 4 days. It would seriously not surprise me if they just become 3rd party.

What nobody is mentioning is that:
Microsoft will also fail at software sales. What Xbox games do people want to play? Halo, gears, forza are old and tired. Looking at Microsoft's history, they can't make good games, they don't give developers any freedom. Theyd have to buy studios, but looking at EA, that means jack ****. The studios that are for sale have zero talent because the passionate designers left elsewhere
Software sales still requires good games and Microsoft doesn't have it.

PC gaming makes one and a half times as much money as the console market combined. Mobile is making more than both markets combined. Gaming sites and forums are full of out of touch dinosaurs.

Adding all the parts up is actually $720. And even then you need to crank all the settings to low to scrape 1440p. A PS5 absolutely mogs this, especially since console versions of games are far better optimized. Also consider that in a few months the PS5 pro is out, for less than $720 and will completely obliterate it.Lol
