Does Anyone else owe more money in taxes this year than last? (W2)

I already paid $12000 in federal taxes, now they're saying I owe another $300? What the fuk? I've never owed taxes because I always claimed 0 and they tax the max amount each month. I thought the feds made the new tax bracket benefit us to get more money back. Is the government trying to get people pissed off by bringing in millions of illegal scum from south America and raising our taxes and fudging the jobs numbers with illegal south American scum that will influence fed decisions on rates. What the fuk is going on

Someone has to pay for all the costs of processing migrants and transporting them across the country.

In New York the taxpayer is on the hook for the prepaid cards loaded with money that every migrant is entitled to. These migrants are being housed in hotels that the American taxpayer has to pay for.

I'd pay $300 to not interact with the IRS, so seems like a good deal.

Of course you owe more, you need to fund more military bases in the Middle East, boyo..... If you're a "red-blooded, patriotic American" then you'll happily "pay your fair share" to fund more Forever Wars and migrant caravans.

NYC is giving away prepaid credit cards to migrants. When Biden is re-elected he'll be giving away prepaid credit cards to all 11M illegal migrants in the country.

Thanks for you contribution, OP.

Paying more total tax than last year? Yep. Made a good bit more money.

Having to write a bigger check on April 15? Nope. Made a lot more on bonus which is over-withheld at 25%. Helps make up for my wife's under-withholding.

I have 3 a acres i could definitely start a farm good input. I see a lot of Christmas tree farms in my area I wonder if they are doing it for the deduction because it's not much money to sell 100 Christmas trees a year

Seems lot of people are owing taxes this year. Way more than any other year. Could just be they are making videos about it. I like the ones where people say they are supposed to be exempt because thats what they selected on their w 4. Like checking that box just erases them magically from the tax system.

I am a firm believer that I have figured out where socialism ends. The actual place it ends.

Its on form 1040 Line 23. Amount You Owe. Soon as people have to enter something on that line they start thinking twice about giving money away.

It seems nobody here tries to owe/get back $0

There’s so many factors that go into “why do i owe more this year” and whether that’s actually bad nor not… i can’t bring myself to break it down for them. It’s too exhausting

Brah, a couple weeks ago, I had miscers ADAMANT that the IRS pays uber drivers $0.67 per mile that they drive their personal cars.... They literally think the IRS is cutting checks to uber drivers for doing uber....

They were so convinced (multiple posters) that they were calling me a retard for trying to explain that's not how write-offs work. Even after I explained that a deduction is accounting for the expense of wear & tear on your vehicle, they basically continued that I'm wrong, and that the IRS is writing checks and paying the drivers.

I was mind=blown.
