what is even mildly controversial about this:

Ageism is difficult for women because it is hard to cope with losing the "pretty privilege" that they enjoyed in their youth. Most men have been accustomed to being ignored throughout their lives, women who were once at the center of attention find it challenging to adapt to a world that suddenly overlooks them as they age. Sorry to break it to you, but aging sucks for everyone, not just women.
