Kind reminder that Marvel and the Genshin Impact devs both reached out to strike an exclusivity deal with MS but got declined so they went to Sony instead.

And the rest is history.

The impression I get of Phil is that he's alright and knows what they should be doing for gamers....... But he's got shareholders etc giving him nonsensical orders.

You ever had a job where the company makes terrible decision after terrible decision and you are sitting there like "I know how to fix this" but nobody listens.

I think that's Phil.

Tbh I think Phil has made a ton of positive changes. It just wasn’t enough. Keep in mind he didn’t have much power until the end of 2017, his boss before that wouldn’t approve anything, after that promotion he reported to satya

-fixed back compat and made it much better
-game pass
-fixed their first party portfolio. No longer just halo gears forza
-fixed their first party dev cycles. Forza used to be biannual and gears every 3 years

Insane if you think about it. They bought a lot of studios, and really fought for Activision-Blizzard. I mean, going multi would get them a lot of $$$, but they could have made Xbox a really competent console by making a lot of first party games with their studios.

WoW for Xbox alone would have been great.

on topic I'd find it a real shame if Xbox would cease to exist since competition is good to keep one sharp

but if it turns out that way it is what it is, I don't have an emotional band with the brand or some chit lmfao

I've been Sony for 2 gens and Xbox for 3 gens so there's that

mentioned it before but 99% of games I want to play are multiplat and I find the Xbox controller better than the PS one (at least for 3/4) and the backward compatibility on Xbone - so pretty rational choices

will probably just end up getting a PS5 Pro and hope the controller is as good as you brahs keep saying

Be a shame to see Xbox go. The 360 blew the PS3 out the water and was probs the best console ever if I truly think about it. Next to the PS2.

The online and party chats playing halo 3, cod mw and cod zombies, left 4 dead etc. twas a good time. The controller was miles ahead of the PS3 controller.

They had so many exclusives on the 360 then they just let it all go. I preferred their exclusives over the PlayStations interactive movie games of that era.
