Is Lords of Fallen worth getting?

I'm a big fan of dark souls and medieval type settings.

Wood I like this game?

I beat it twice and have a 3rd build about half way through. I really like it and I've enjoyed it way more than Lies of P which was the main game everyone was comparing LOTF to since they came out around the same time.

LOTF had it's share of issues at launch but I beat it before they nerfed everything and IMO it wasn't as bad as people were making it out to be. The casuals cried the loudest.

They've made a TON of changes and improvements since launch and IMO the world they have built is really great looking and interesting. The world and story of LOP bored me to tears by comparison.

Nah that was one of the best parts. That chance at redemption if you get killed. It was a huge twist on the same old same old souls formula.

While I think they could have and should have gotten wilder with it, it was a unique enough design element to make it feel much more different than most other souls game.

As a Soulsborne aficionado, I'd love to give it a shot but I've been disappointed before, some games look the part but when you play them combat and world design are levels below FromSoftware, I've been spoiled.
