One can find a silver lining in almost every situation if you choose to look for it. As cliche as it sounds just making a conscious effort to purge negativity makes a huge difference in your day to day outlook of the future

It is frightening some of the actions this current government has taken, with censorship, political prosecutions, contributing to high inflation, lockdowns, the border invasion, Universities and schools less interested in teaching basic education, etc. We're living in a time of a bad government. We've seen some wrong turns taken.

I hold out hope though that positive change will happen in the future. It wasn't that long ago that life in America was better. It can happen again. As a people our country has been able to learn from our mistakes.

While this may be true, being optimistic, and being optimistic about the future of America are not mutually exclusive things. One can be optimistic about his own life without being optimistic about the future of America, there's no point being delusional about the reality of it when it affects so many facets of our lives.

I'm from UK but largely the same applies here.
