Agreed OP. Most americans should know a bit of spanish. Helps a lot if you're into traveling. Imagine living in California or Texas and not knowing a bit of Spanish. Borders only an hour away.

I really want to get better with Mandarin. I can count 1-10 and say basic phrases, but I feel like learning the script is going to be tough.
