VLC Media Player Issue

Recently my VLC player isn't showing the minimise/close icons in the top right corner.

When I go into View and select 'Always On Top' they appear - but then disappear again almost instantly.

Have no idea what has brought this on, as I've been using VLC for years without this issue, and I never change any settings.

Has anyone experienced this before and know what's wrong?

I've tried to see if there's an update available but I have the latest version.

Am wondering whether I should just uninstall it and download it again and pray that works.

It's honestly annoying as hell because sometimes when I press Tab+Alt to change windows (when I'm in VLC and can't get out of it by minimising or closing) it won't even change and will just be stuck in VLC.

Hmm I just watched a Jay two cents video where he was talking about a software removal program called revo Uninstaller. There's a free version but basically it deep dives to remove all files left behind when you remove a program, I'd try a reinstall but use that program to totally remove all traces of vlc during the reinstall?
