If the Democrats win this election, then we'll have to accept that America has well and truly changed (gone are the good old Americana days) and we have to chart a new destiny with new values, expectations, norms, etc.

I think the person who holds the office is irrelevant, the office itself is more symbolic than an actually position of authority. If anything, it serves to create the illusion of democracy and create more division among the population.

We could literally never argue about who was in the office and nothing would change.

    agreed, people give the president too much credit, as if he doesn't have a chit ton of expert advisors or checks and balances to make sure he doesn't fuk over the nation
