I mean to make a proper judgment I would need to know the average thickness and permeability of the material used to make the merchandise sold at each of their concerts going back to at least 1972 because prior to that we all know people generally used handkerchiefs when plungering clogged toilets instead of pulling tshirts up over noses

How is this even a discussion? Zeppelin is one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Skynyrd isn't even in that conversation.

Zeppelin has sold more than 10x more albums than Skynyrd all time.

Zeppelin is easily the better of the two, but Skynyrd's Tuesday's Gone was a great fcking song and I can't think of many Zeppelin songs that compare to that on a feel level.

I find Zeppelin's music boring and nerdy kind of like the Rolling Stones. Stairway to heaven is great though

They're a skilled band, I just don't like their sound, especially the annoying acdc style vocals

that's kind of how i see it, i can tell they are very impressive / talented, and i do enjoy their music - but skynyrd is funner to listen to so i pick them as better

I don't know anyone under the age of 45 who gives a chit about LZ or LS, while other acts carry over to younger generations better. That's not a coincidence. So many other better bands from that time frame, that they aren't on my radar other than considering them overrated boomer bands.
