I was in Thailand for Super Bowl last year, and there was a bar that opened at like 6AM so people could watch the Super Bowl live. It was pretty packed.

honestly its probably far more than i'd suspect but i'd say somewhere around 2-300 million outside of the US

They have shown it live here for decades-since 1983 when the new station Channel 4 aired it, but it is an ungodly hour for people to stay up. Can remember when it was red hot in the UK back in the mid to late 1980's as The Fridge became a tabloid paper icon here & a big celebrity in the UK for a few years & can remember watching the 1985 & 1986 finals-though I think I watched the highlights show that aired the next day, or later in the week. Incredibly prior to their launch in November 1982 neither the BBC or ITV had ever aired NFL.
