What should I do for Valentines Day?

I don’t care if it’s a corporate pseudo holiday. It’s my wife’s first one as my wife and it’s my job to make it special. What should I do?

Im celebrating with my wife on Saturday - I’m making high tea - scones, deviled eggs, caviar, etc - and taking her to a nice botanical garden that I called and they said they would allow me to bring in a picnic basket.

I'm planning on stopping at a flower shop on my way home and getting my lady a potted flower or plant she likes so we can plant it in our garden together come late spring. We do that yearly and it's literally the gift that keeps on giving especially if said flower is a perennial.

My wife and I both think of it this way as well. That's why getting a potted plant that you can save until you can plant it outside is a nice workaround. We actually have a circular garden around our lilac tree that's effectively become a perennial gift garden. We've got multiple lavenders, hydrangea, all kinds of stuff going!

I’ve never understood the flower thing, but my gf likes getting them. I ordered some to be delivered and I haven’t said anything about Valentine’s Day so she probably thinks I forgot lol.

Celebrated yesterday with my gf

Took PTO from work. Picked her up from college (she’s 25 btw, masters student) and we went to a fancy Italian restaurant for lunch. She loved the atmosphere and specially prepared fish, it’s on fire when they bring it to you, it’s in an extremely upscale area and has outdoors seating, weather was perfectly cool and sunny.

Then we went to a pottery painting class thing, girls like painting. I also played Taylor swift on my acoustic guitar for her too, practiced that like the day before lol! She was so happy even though I didn’t really plan much and was kind of spontaneous with it. She was constantly hugging me as we walked around the nice area after dessert and was grabbing my arm when I was driving.

You just have to show that you genuinely care. Get her a rose, high quality chocolate, and a nice valentines themed card that has something she likes on it (cats for example).

I bet! We planted some flowers last summer and hopefully they come back this year. One was supposed to be a perennial and I think one was an annual that people said has come back for them. We did hydrangeas out front. Those should def come back. We also got one of those iron plant stands that holds a flower pot on each side for the back of the house. I'm prob going to do petunias in them.

I do love cards! lol

We decided to do steak here at home since restaurants will be packed and I need to sit with my leg up. That would be impossible in a packed restaurant.
