Happy Valentines Day

Said OP not even once, srs.

Just another consumerism-focused day.

JFL if flowers / chocolates / treats feature only on special days in your romantic relationship.

Thankfully don’t have to celebrate this holiday anymore. Even though my GF isn’t Muslim anymore it’s still against her culture.

March 8th is there day

Where is she from?

I mean, spontaneity is key. On a random Wednesday you finish early, you pop by and pick up some flowers, surprise her at home. Smash her - she's still in her pjs, on the dining room table. Put the flowers there, take her out for dinner.

^ This sort of thing should be basic in a relationship. I always found this 'holiday' a very manufactured one.

Chechnya

They don’t celebrate pagan holidays but they celebrate international women’s day. The women and man bond over there is pretty weird there’s no transparency

you cheap bastards can't afford to drop a bill 1 day a year to make your girl feel special?

Zero traditional values held in a community that ironically romanticizes about being old school.

You make me sick.

Thanks! Hope you and the wife and baby have a great day! First holidays with a baby are so fun!

Had my 2nd surg Thursday so still in a lot of pain. It was to clean up the failed repair. Surgeon said there was a ton of scar tissue and I think he removed the anchor from my tibia since I was having a ton of shin pain that whole time. Apparently some people don't react well to the anchor and I unfortunatly was one of them. It's been a little better than the first surgery so that is good. Now I have quad/thigh pain that I didn't have with the first surgery. lol His secretary said it is normal for some people to have the quad pain when I called on Monday about it. Hoping it calms down soon. I'm doing the exercises 3x a day, icing for 20 min every hour. Doing everything they said to do. Plus bored out of my skull. lol

Hah, International Women's Day - really? What's that celebration like?

Did you read the thread? Anything folks do on Valentine's day, I fairly regularly do for my woman. JFL at needing a special day to 'make your girl feel special'.

Yeah - wifey and the little cutie are doing well. She's turning 7 months old in a few days, and now she can 'walk' if I hold her hands, she can sit up, 'crawl to stand' near a ladder or on the couch etc. She's so inquisitive, still likes yanking my ears though lol

It must be so hard to impact your level of activity that way. I remember what you said before and honestly hope your recovery goes well. Glad to see you're doing the exercises, must be brutal. You on heavy pain meds? I had wisdom teeth taken out and the really strong pain meds they gave me didn't work too well, just made me feel sick. Those opiate based ones.

I've been having some kind of 'knee pain', which I went to specialists here to check out and they were like 'your knee is fantastic'. It's running in a line from my hip down to my knee, and seems to be some kind of weird ache, only if I sit a certain way at my desk for a long time lol. Aging, right? Never feel discomfort when I work out.

Oh wow 7 months already! All those firsts are so fun.

It's super hard to not be active. I hate it. lol The exercises aren't so bad, sometimes they actually make my leg feel better for a few min. I'm supposed to be elevating my leg as much as possible but if I do it for too long at a time my quad really starts to hurt. So I try to just do as long as I can and change position for a bit then back to elevating. Or get up and walk around the house to stretch it out.

Nope, this surgeon is super stingy with pain meds and on top of that they don't really do much for me anyway. Have never understood how people get addicted to them. They just gave me 20 hydrocodone and if I'd taken them on the frequency they said they would have been gone by Sat. I've been rotating Motrin and Tylenol every 2 hours for the most part and take the hydros if it's really bad like when it wakes me up at night.

Huh, well I guess if they say your knee is good then maybe it's just the way you're sitting? That's good you're not in any discomfort while working out. Yep lol aging is not the best.

It reeks of low test. Imagine mustering the courage to make your woman feel special one time a year, because the 'culture' compels you to. No high value male engages in this cuckery, ded fkn srs.

Thanks so much. Yeah we're at a stage where, I organized a party and ~25 adults were there, plus another 10 kids at different ages. When I came back in (had a drink and a smoke outside with a friend) even across the restaurant I reserved my baby girl looked at me, and when I looked at her she gave me that 'devil grin' where her face just lights up. Was the only time my wife said that she was jealous of my connection with her, srs, lol. Whereas of course she's the matriarch.

I'm glad you have the discipline to do all that. Keep it up, I'm hoping for you that within a few days it just starts to fade, and you can get back into the active lifestyle I know you enjoy so much. I can't get the painkiller addiction either (and I am a nicotine addict - at least, habit) because they just made me feel so sick. But I know some folks hate alcohol, nicotine...some aren't even that into sex, right? So different strokes applies. Good luck with the recovery.

On my 'issues' they're so odd. The knee specialist even ran an MRI and there was nothing on it. My issues end up being behavioral if you can believe it, not related to training. JFL at executive life

But he's calling out one day of consoomerism while at the same time being prideful that he lives that way all the time?

Just a strange take.

This. Wife is a florist so the absolute last thing she'll want to do today after she gets off work is go out somewhere. Will cook her dinner tonight tho.
