Investing in SPY vs T bills

Would you rather invest in SPY or buy T bills yielding 5%??

Lost like $150k in stocks the last 3 yrs srs..

Only have a $30k net worth left at 29 yrs old..

I'm never satisfied making $200 per day trading.. I have to keep pushing it and taking crazy risks and end up blowing my account..

Gonna start all over again trading small..

Idk whether to invest my gains in SPY or just buy US tbills?

Thoughts?

However you have to pay taxes, vs just leaving your money in SPY or QQQ and never touching it..

Idk whats better 60/40 stocks bonds

Or 100% bonds

Or 100% stocks (etf)

Proceeds from Treasury bills are exempt from Federal taxes at least right, or state taxes, one of the two

State and local (LOL) taxes only.

It's tough to say....

The answer to this question depends mostly on your risk profile.

When I was 26, during 2021, I had just finished paying off all of my debts. Shortly after, I started getting into investing, including the wallstreetbets hype. I started investing in things I didn't fully understand, which is a bad mix with stock options. Also as we all know, towards the end of 2021 the stock market crashed, terrible timing. I watched my investment account go from $35k -> $66k -> $0, and even burned through half of my emergency fund. Terrible time, I was depressed after.

Spent all of 2022 just saving money and staying away from investing, partially because I lost trust in myself.

2023 comes around I got back into investing. And now my net worth is a little over $200k, srs. That's a $15k emergency fund, $87k roth retirement accounts, $86k in non-retirement investment account, and a paid off car that is worth probably $15k.

Now I'm 28. Disclaimer, I'm not a financial advisor or accredited in any such thing, so see sig. And as you can tell I've been a dumb ass before with it.

The way I climbed up to this net worth was continuing to avoid debt, and I believed in the tech industry so I bought NVDA, AMD, INTC. In less than a year's time my investment account has accrued over 100% return on those shares I bought from 2023. My investment account was about $49k cash, the remainder is stock growth and a few profitable options trades here and there.

Both. Just do CD's and secondary bond market until interest rates drop, then go heavier in stocks.

I've put like 70k in treasuries since they started going @ 5% and I think I'll stick with that until those rates drop. At the moment I'd rather take 0 risk and 5% return.
