A Dogs Purpose and A Dogs Journey- Before watching I was worried they would just be sad but I really enjoyed them. Spoiler!
I think about it now and wish my boo would be reincarnated and find me.
A Dogs Way Home- when I watched this I thought it was going to be the plot of A Dogs Purpose and kept waiting for the sad scene when the dog would die, but that never happened. Thankfully. lol Very cute movie.
Dog- We saw in theater and enjoyed it.
Hotel for Dogs- saw in theater when my son was young. Really cute movie.
Benji- Loved those movies when I was a kid.

There's a movie called 'Animal Farm' but I'm not sure it's the genre you have in mind, although many miscers love it.

Hachi is my favorite too, because we had an Akita when I was little. We bought a book about Akitas when we got ours, and it told the story of Hachi, so I was already familiar.
I also saw Dog with Channing Tatum recently, and it was pretty good.
