Lifters who run as well (does running affect squatting?)

As soon as I started to run a little more serious (faster than before and 20min each time 3x week) I've noticed that maybe my strength has been slacking on squatting now. Does it really affect this much to squatting? Does running affect your squatting? After I started to run more serious, I also noticed that my ass cheeks have gotten a little flatter (no homo srs) even though I was bulking, so i have lost some fat from my arse cheeks so maybe that is the reason for squat getting not progressing?

I only run like 1.6-2.1 miles each jog session.

Yes, it's impossible to recover from both a hard run workout and a hard squat workout at the same time. You have to pick one or the other to prioritize. I went from running maybe 10 mi a week to 30 mi a week over the last 6 months, and my squat has dropped off a cliff and I lost all dat dere cake too (no homo).

yes it does, especially if you're natty and taking one or another (or both ?) seriously

your recovery will suffer if you run & squat seriously.

Fuaark. At least I'm not running that much, and I never squat the day after running. Hopefully I'll still progress on squatting somehow. Or otherwise I'll be forever grinding it on 225 lbs for reps.

You're running such a short distance, shouldn't affect much

How much are you Squatting?

Only 225 for reps at the moment. Hopefully next time I'll be able to lift more.

When you run heavy, your body is trying to lose bulky fast twitch muscles to get better suited to run.

Why don't you just brisk walk?

With same distance, it has same effect as running.

Because I love running and I like the feeling after running. I won't quit it. But I think that my squat stalled after i lost my "dat dere cake" and now there isn't much fat to lose anymore, so as long as i am bulking i should get stronger. But let's see. I'm gonna try to keep my running sessions less than 2.5 miles.
