Looking back at Wrestlemania 6 from that year it is amazing how many are gone.
Koko B Ware vs Rick Martel-both alive
Demolition vs Andre The Giant & Haku-Andre dead
Earthquake vs Hercules-both dead
Brutus Beefcake vs Mr Perfect-Perfect dead
Roddy Piper vs Bad News Brown-both dead
Hart Foundations vs Bolsheviks-Jim Neidhart & Nikolai Volkoff dead
Barbarian vs Tito Santana-both alive
Dusty Rhodes & Sapphire vs Randy Savage & Sherri Martel-all four dead
Rockers vs Orient Express-all alive
Jim Duggan vs Dino Bravo-Bravo dead
Ted DiBiase vs Jake Roberts-both alive, though how Jake is still breathing is a miracle
Akeem vs Big Bossman-Bossman dead
Rick Rude vs Jimmy Snuka-both dead
Hulk Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior-Warrior dead.
Also deceased from that show-Gorilla Monsoon, Lord Alfred Hayes, Mean Gene Okerlund, Joey Marella, Mr Fuji, Bobby Heenan, The Genius. In another twist one of the refs on that show hired a hitman to kill his wife so he could collect life insurance on her. The hitman was an undercover cop though-his wife actually begged the judge to be lenient, he served 18 months in jail & reconciled with his wife when he was released.

Chris the youngest of the wrestling brothers shot himself in the head in 1991 & Kerry had violated his probation for forging prescriptions/drug possession & knew he was going to serve jail time-in February 1993 he went to Fritz's place & said he wanted to borrow the gun he had given Fritz as a gift & he needed time to think out in the fields-clearly Fritz knew he was going to kill himself, but obliged-likely to stop the 'shame' of his kid going to jail-he had prevented it a decade earlier when Kerry returned from his honeymoon & had all manner of drugs taped to his body, but the evidence mysteriously went missing from the police station as Fritz had a lot of stroke in Dallas-especially the Fort Worth area.
Rude died in 1999 while attempting a comeback with WWF-he had multiple drugs in his system. Perfect died from acute coke intoxication in 2003. Warrior in 2014 after decades of abusing his body physically & with drugs.

Amazing, Kerry was wrestling with a fake leg there. Didn't tell anyone, not even his opponents or promoters.
Most younger wrestlers seemed to die from drugs or suicide or some crazy accident. Even though you would think steroids it's usually not the case with the younger guys. The ones in their 50s and 60s yes. The 30s and 40s were just the wild boyz.

Everybody knew in late 1988-he was working a match with Colonel DeBeers & DeBeers pulled his boot off & everybody there saw there was nothing from the ankle. Vince even got in touch with the Chicago Athletic Commission to implore them to cancel the SuperClash 3 PPV show, due to an old statute they had from the 1920's or something about missing limbs meaning a wrestler could not be licenced.
Kerry was headlining it against Lawler in a title unification match, but Vince failed to stop the show. After that match Kerry had promised to show Bill Apter-the wrestling magazine guy his foot & he could photograph it & publish it to quell the talk, but Kerry of course didn't.
Amazing that he could compete with only one foot for six years & still compete to a decent level of athleticism-even though not the athlete he had been prior to the accident & surgery.
