There's something about this forum that attracts people that are just jerks. Some of it is that we're on the internet, but not all of it. Even in different settings a lot of these people are just very flawed humans. Many just broken. Selection bias is strong here.

It's not just the misc

The overwhelming majority of people, like 99% of them, don't like seeing other people do better than them


That's why when anyone posts something about them, the first thing people look for is a way to bring them down and feel better about themselves.

I.e. a short guy posts a pic with his new gf, guy with no gf responds "lol at being a manlet". Makes himself feel better.
