Has anyone else quit addiction cold turkey
Srs I am 29 and I had a very scary experience last night that essentially changed my perspective on my entire life and where it is heading.
I have lived like an absolute degenerate for the last 4 years. That includes:
-Smoking weed every day without fail.
-Binge drinking hard liquor 1-2x a week. (finishing entire 70cl or 1l bottles at a time)
-usually always supplemented the above drinking binges with a gram of creatine....
-Hardcore Porn addiction and Fapping 2-4x a day.
On top of that, I have not actively lifted or exercised during those 4 years.
The only upside was that I have crafted a fairly solid career with a ton of upside.
Looking for advice brahs on quitting cold turkey.. it's day 1 and I have lasted 19 hours but having massive cravings to smoke before bed... was legit religion to me and I am probably going to be severely insomniac now. I am scared as I don't think I have had a day of being sober from everything in genuinely 5+ years srs.

I appreciate well thought out subtle trolling.

I know most of the guys do all these things from the age of 20-35 and really enjoy it..it's part of their entertainment and reward system...or some do it coz they are bored and have nothing else to do...but in your case you are doing way too much of them....try replacing weed with cigarettes....try drinking half litre alcohol instead of 1 ltr (just mix it with coca cola)..., and damnnn you fapppp 2-4 times a day that's too much...try fappping once a day...make a plan to watch pornnn for 30 minutes maximum and then fapppp...that way you won't watch anymore pornnnn....
Like I said you are do much of all these so you are feeling it...at some stage it is gonna get back to you and you will feel the effects....just do less of these....and it doesn't matter if you lift or not (it has nothing to do with all above)...

Good job.
Just stick with it and tell yourself no.
Wat happens is we start to apply stuff to getting high and drinking. For me, I could really focus on my art and work while drunk. Once i took that drinking away i felt lost and bored.
Obviously if you can do stuff drunk you can do them sober but it takes time to relearn stuff. That and lots of boredom. trick is to find something else to occupy your time.

"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

it's not as simple as being motivated to quit. you are fighting brain chemistry (dopamine) which requires rewiring your activities to offset the loss of pleasure you used to get.
it's going to be very difficult
it's going to be very difficult

Id say in your situation it's not going to be easy and you're going to have days that are easier than others, but consistent discipline is what's going to get you where you want to be......and that's the 1st step.....actually wanting it and realizing for your own reasons that you need to make a change.
I would say 2 of those things are ok in moderation (and this is not to be used as a "go ahead") drinking and smoking.....unless you just cant handle them in moderation and they are an all or nothing thing for you. Keep drinking and smoking to the weekends or events that can be accentuated by them. If you cant do that, then you need to cut them out completely.
Also keep in mind (depending on how deep you are into drinking) that there are only 2 things that stopping cold turkey can kill you.....Alcohol and Benzodiazepines
Good luck man. Good on you for taking the 1st step. Stay strong, stay consistent, take it 1 day at a time and remember why you want/need to make this change.

lmfao OP, are you me? Everything from being a degen drinker/fapmaxxer to having a career with upside, being 29.
Anyways, I haven't quit cold turkey on all my issues but my consumption has dropped a ton.
Gaming was my biggest issue and I successfully quit that.
I've cut alcohol/porn consumption by about half. I don't think I can quit completely but gonna try cutting it down to 10-20%.
OP, i'd suggest getting a gym membership and sticking to a routine that you find enjoyable.
Sometimes, i'll skip drinking/fapping for a night so I can have a good workout in the morning.
I'll force myself to eat a bit healthier cuz I know the hawt gym sloot is gonna be be there and I can't be all bloated.
Although I haven't reached my goals, i've been takin baby steps the past 8 months since I got back in the gym and feel much better.
