PS VR2 to add PC support in 2024
...
Sony Interactive Entertainment is currently testing PC support for its PlayStation VR2 headset with plans to launch in 2024, the company announced.
In a PlayStation Blog post featuring updates on upcoming PlayStation VR2 games, Sony Interactive Entertainment content communications manager Gillen McAllister said, “We’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PlayStation VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PlayStation VR2 titles available through PlayStation 5. We hope to make this support available in 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.”

This is huge if they can do it. Even if it would require an adapter.
I'm surprised they even addressed it at all. Don't know how anyone can spin this as a "L". This is a W.

It should be been released to pc as well in the first place since that's where pretty much the entire vr fanbase actually is.
So, yeah i think it's a L for Sony because this is them basically admitting they were wrong in the first place.
They want everything to be exclusive and it just isn't working for them at really any capacity except maybe their single player games, and even those arent staying exclusive either.

in for the oled screen, i have the Rift S
but i'm totally down for the PSVR2's oled 120hz screen
i'm not interested in the meta quest's AR functionality right now its still too new and we are still in growing pains for just regular VR

Nah but on the real, despite the massive phaagotry associated with it, I may have considered the VR2 if there were a bunch of support for real games on it that don't still feel like tech demos.
This was a swing and a miss from Sony. No idea what they were thinking and I'm sad to think how these massive resources would have been impacted if used to focus on just the PS5 instead. Maybe VR might be a big thing next gen, or the one after but one thing for sure is it needs to feel less experimental and more of a place for actual games.
