I enjoyed Last of Us moderately the first time I played it. The entire franchise is tainted to me now, will never play any more games or watch any of the crappy shows associated with it. I do not know if I've ever seen a game franchise that huffed it's own farts like nitrous gas quite like the Last of Us team.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. Not only from a moral view and just being a decent person, lying to and attacking your fan base, and potential customers is going to put a mark on your business career.

I enjoyed TLOU2 for the most part. Legit talk, if it wasn't for the propaganda chit, game would be a literal 10/10. It's astounding to me how they can absolutely nail every single part of the game from design, to combat, graphics, world building and excruciating detail from a technical standpoint....

Agreed, srs. I think in the way most movies, or games, are making a statement about something but wrapping it up with entertaining scenes and captivating dialogue, what ND/ND did was wrap up propaganda / agenda pushing / normalization in gameplay and all the positives you mentioned.

Except with a lot of great movies and video games, we're looking at legitimate coming of age stories, or the hero's journey, minus woke bullsh!t politics. I remember with the first one when they took the gay dude's truck, I thought...okay, that's nothing too crazy...then they had that DLC about sweet little Ellie and I drew the line there...of course, the teaser / trailer for the second game was basically about propaganda front and center.

The original owes it success to Amy Hennig and wasforced out by Cuckmann and Staley, which is typical of an overbearing virtue signaler like Neil "we don't make fun" cuckmann.
A silver lining is that the sequelsold worse than the first game by 44%.

I also get the sneaking suspicion that things are not all that rosy behind the scenes if Sony cancelled the Factions 2 release after so much development time. There's no way that with the state of things over at Sony that they're going to be pleased throwing away so much money, and the "remaster" was another desperate shot at getting some extra ROI.

The other thing that's unique in TLOU2's case, at least among video games, is that it's the first major example of "subverting expectations" that pisses off a sizable number of fans.

We'll see how they handle that for the TV show, e.g. not dropping Jose Millaro's Golf Expedition on episode 1, but they can only dance around the inevitable for so long before killing off (for some god forsaken reason) the fan favorite actor, and it's not like there's a whole lot left to carry the TV adaption.

This is the neo-communist strategy to a T. They worm their way into a company, target someone in a position of power with an idealized role, assassinate their importance or patience to the point they are fired or quit, then force their way into the vacant power void. Usually they then turn on the existing fanbase very vocally on social media preemptively as they get to work dismantling the intellectual property with "subversion," propaganda talking points, and self-insert fantasies about themselves. When the fanbase start expressing discontent, they are immediately labeled as toxic, misogynist, racist, any dehumanizing words they can dig up to further their goals of taking existing capitalist brands and turning them into propaganda outlets. It's a win-win for these commies, too, because since they hate capitalism, if it poisons the brand enough to tank it entirely, they can take pride in killing a successful corporation.

They're all self-centered, sociopathic narcissists. And what's funny is Neil claims to champion women, but essentially pushed one of the most celebrated women in video game history out of her job and took her place. Hennig is a legend.

They're all like that too, whether it's video games or movie/TV. All one has to do is look at how many times some new "first ever" comes out of the woodworks, effectively erasing history to rewrite themselves as the heroes of their own narratives.

Thankfully more people are becoming aware of it because these perpetrators are so self-aggrandizing that they easily become overconfident over what they can get away with, but it's still not nearly enough. Likewise, too many people are either ignorant or outright lack the intelligence and often self-restraint to understand how we have global behemoths like Disney that are now publicly blamingthemand everyone else for not blindly consuming their propaganda hard enough.

The easiest thing one can do isnotsupport these companies who hold zero regard for everyone else, and it's completely free. That goes back to the lack of self control where enough people are going out of their own way to immerse themselves in these morally bankrupt and toxic feedback loops that try to guilt people into submission.
