I just realized a job is like an apartment
In an apartment, as long as you pay the monthly rent and behave yourself, you're allowed to live there. You'll be evicted if you don't do those things. If you do those things, you can live there until you choose to leave. And once you leave (voluntarily or involuntarily), they'll easily find another tenant for the apartment.
In a job, as long as you fulfill your job duties and behave yourself, you're allowed to work there. You'll be fired if you don't do those things. If you do those things, you can work there until you choose to leave. And once you leave (voluntarily or involuntarily), they'll easily find another employee for the position.
