Is it bad to keep a low grade, steady buzz of caffeine, nicotine and alcohol all day?

I'm talking like sipping coffee throughout the day, spiked with a dash of Irish whiskey and zyn pouch in lip when needed?

Just cruising a light buzz but obviously still functional.

The funny thing is after college, I stopped drinking. I thought it was cringe and unhealthy. But here I am over 10 years later cruising on a very light daily dose.

Alcohol might not be a good idea if you're working during the day. I would drink incredibly low amounts at work so i wouldn't kill myself but it did not affect my cognition, but was still called out on it because someone could smell it.

idk. I just started the trifecta last week.

For the longest time it was just caffeine and nicotine. Just introduced the whisky

But I will say, it was only a cup or two of coffee for me but now I make a giant cup on the morning and sometimes a half scoop of pre workout when I wake up.

That's what I am doing but I'm self employed. No one else is in my office with me. Also the zyn is spearmint so it masks the smell a bit on my breath.

It's pretty nefarious and will creep up on you eventually. Everyone initially thinks they can manage it until they can't.

yeah that's how I thought for the longest time and I still agree with it.

Just been feeling sort of dull lately even before substances so now I'm like fuk it, might as well feel good and be dull

Just don't want to be stepping into quicksand with it.

Deep down, I feel this.

Kinda been a rough year for me so hopefully this is just a temporary desire of mine. I usually live a pretty steady, conservative life so maybe just need to get it out of the system.

Feeling an urge to use substances is usually a coping strategy we'll use when we're not doing well. It's like wearing a warm blanket in a house with a busted radiator. It'll keep you warm but once it's gone, the house is still cold. Best to work hard to address the underlying issues that cause you to want to engage in these behaviours in the first place.

Been there, by the way. Really not sustainable.

Thanks boyo.

and yeah I usually nip anything in my life that is off but in this case it's medical related and came out of no where despite being healthy, fit, good diet, sleep and gym. Unfortunately nothing I can do until later this summer when I can have a procedure to hopefully address the issue.

Made me a little more sympathetic towards others because you never know what someone is going through and life can change at any minute despite doing everything right.

Considering the misc is full of proud alcoholics, caffeine addicts, and a fair number of posters who love nictoine as well, I'm sure you'll get plenty of support around here

As long as you're using substances in moderation, it shouldn't be an issue.

I quit booze and cigs at the start of the year. Generally drink a coffee or the rare energy drink every morning. Use kratom but limit it to once every 48 hours and never more than a half a tablespoon. Weed edibles and flower, but in a limited capacity compared to my young years.

You'll acclimate to the low grade buzz and need to up the dosage or move onto more extreme versions to get the same feeling, which won't end well.
