Being "successful" can only be defined by the individual.

Of course there is a general standard to which one would agree that the individual has achieved success relatively, but overall it will mean something different to everyone.

Are you able to raise your own meat and grow your own produce? Do you slaughter and butcher livestock?

I currently do not, but the 44 acres of property that I bought 5 years ago is patiently waiting for the day the wife and I decide to rent out our house and build out there.

We do have a 20x40 garden in the backyard currently though….growing lettuce, peppers, okra, tomatoes, eggplants and potatoes….almost time to start planting for this year. We've talked about getting chickens but that's probably a couple years off….until my daughter is old enough to help and learn with/about them.

There is no incentive other than humble bragging and making a stranger’s day.

(I’m not asking either because your response was “what do I get in return?” meaning you would miss it, to an nth degree, or you wouldn’t want something in return)

I don’t know how wealthy you are. I make okay money, but the day I’m loaded with fukk you money is the day I give without expectation of reciprocation.

Can’t believe how many greedy fukks live day to day. Not calling you a greedy fuk. But goddamn there should be more GIVING people in the world on the merit of being a compassionate human being.

Would 100% be making a weekly giveaway thread on the misc if I made it (dead fkn srs)

Mostly-successful then, still way better than 99% of the population that lives on fast food and Walmart runs. Self-sufficiency is my measure of success.

How long have you been growing in that plot? Pay attention to your rotation with that many nightshades, if you grow them in the same place in successive season you might start to get diseases.

Ah yes, the one who defines success from a financial perspective.

For reference, I live in a relatively low COL area. Average Household income in this city is $57k/year. The average Home price is about $192k. In 2023 I made $134k I just got a $15k/year raise that will kick in in April and should get a bonus in the $15k-$18k range, so Ill gross around $155k in 2024. My wife makes about $77k working 4 days/week.

I was more asking "what's my incentive" to get a read on why I would be inclined to just send a stranger a few grand. I wouldn't want anything in return and would help a friend out if they were truly in need….and have in the past. I pretty much kept my parents from being homeless for 2 years, by paying 1/2 of their mortgage ($1000/month) while still paying all of my expenses, building my savings/investments and such.

I'm not just sending someone I dont know at all $2k because they want a new TV or something frivolous like that. Also, I would never humble brag about helping someone out, hell in the times that I've done it, nobody in my social circle even knows.

Thank you my good sir. I agree. I haven't eaten fast food in probably 8-10 years and I wont even step foot in a Walmart.

Katy is a confused and lost sweet soul, she used to be somebody's child, somebody's whole heart, somebody's smile when they walked through the door getting home from work, somebody's joy……and somewhere along the way she got lost and now feels that all she has to offer is her 7/10 face and slightly too large fake teds…..choosing to lay on her back through life, she has decided to show the world her most personal possessions for the low low price of $10/month….. losing all sense of self worth and value in todays world. While she may have a chit ton of money…..at what cost does that money come?

How many times a day do you take a chit? Cant be a proper succesfull person unless your toilet game on point, ded fkn srs.
When you come to think of it, almost all human behaviour and activity is not essentially any different from animal behaviour. The most advanced technologies and craftsmanship bring us, at best, up to the super-chimpanzee level. Actually, the gap between, say, Plato or Nietzsche and the average human is greater than the gap between that chimpanzee and the average human.

OOOOooof sorry to hear brother.

You need to chit at least 3 times per day to be considered a mogger, ded fkn srs.
