So I went into this car dealership maybe 6 weeks ago to find out what supplier they were using for my service. Turns out they’re using a guy that sucks that a lot of other people had switched from to me.

So this used car manager is being a tool but I get him to let me give him a sample after some verbal sparring. (Not hateful just reluctance). Anyways he was impressed and said I was way better than his current supppier (which I already knew.. I’ve taken multiple customers from the guy he’s using).

Anyways he asked me for my liability insurance and a W9 (standard practice) so I give it to him and expect to start doing his store the following week. I get there and he gives me some bs about how he hadn’t turned my stuff in yet. (I’ve never had this happen before and I’m extremely annoyed.. however he has a large inventory so I still want the store). So I decided to give him one more chance the following week before mentally writing him off.

I go back the following week and he said the same chit “oh I still haven’t turned it in yet.”… I was pissed and figured he was just giving me the brush off because he was being loyal to the other guy. So I said to him “So this is your way of tell me to go fuk myself right?” He looked shocked I said that.. he was like “no no I’m gonna get it turned in.”

At this point I’m over it I don’t give two fuks about having him as a customer anymore.

Fast forward to yesterday (this is close to a month later.. I haven’t been back since).

I get a call around 2pm “Hi this is Gary from “redacted” dealership. I got your stuff turned in can you start doing my store on Tuesdays? (Me being money hungry, put on my friendly voice). Sure man….

“Awesome because I’ve got one I need you to take care of, see you then”.

Did this dude just have a stroke? Wtf just happened…

Your a rude arsehole.You go into his business,try to con the guy into giving you work,and because he didnt do exactly what you wanted you go back to his business and say some rude chit like that?id either beat your ass or tell you to get the fuk out with an audacious attitude like that.very unprofessional

I’ve been in the dealership reconditioning business for years and I have like 80 dealers that contract my services. The way he acted was completely out of line. I’m not here to play kiss ass with someone who gets on my nerves and I made that clear. I guess he respected it because he called me back to contract for him.

I guess what I’m saying is I know my market.. I know how things are supposed to be done and his version was unacceptable.

But also I don’t need his business.. I’m making plenty of money already and I don’t really care. I’m too established to bend over backwards for anyone, especially if they’re rude. (Him not turning my stuff into his office was not the way people do things, it was rude).

I think he’s kinda like selling to an Indian customer in the car business. From what I’ve been told to get them to stop trying there stupid games to negotiate you into the ground you have to yell at them. Apparently they respect that and then get out their checkbook. Different strokes for different folks.

Yeah but you gotta turn in the paperwork first.
