I got into the misc when I was 21. I learned pick up lines and humor from the misc. It made me popular among this redditor group I was apart of. I got with all the reddit chicks. Misc has gotten me laid with prettiest women of my life. I'm forever grateful.

Yes and no... I graduated high school with a 1.4 GPA, was miscing in high school and saw tons tons of older miscers saying that they have a CS degree and make bank. I didnt even know wtf CS degrees were all about in high school and checked it out, got a bachelor's in CS, got a 6 figs job, bought a house, and now life is relatively good. If I wasn't miscing God knows what I would've been doing. Probably smoking tons of pot and working at McDonald'a. I was a lost cause and seeing tons of CS threads helped give me direction.

The misc was a hive mind of high T 20-30's who's opinions on life could be taken seriously. The current batch of 1000 active users is a far cry from a legit source for your life. Granted, still some gems getting layed down every few days around here.
Misc theories have helped with multiple sloots, money, job, friends, lifting/diet. Granted these are misc isms from 2011 that live on, not a thread from last month lmao. Bunch of gay indians now a days.

I joined misc at 17 and I agree massively. I was already an anxious and introverted guy and joining misc, I embraced the ForeverAlone, Lay Down and Rot mantra and let myself get down about my preconceived notions about myself. Misc did only but reinforce them to me. I had a place to vent and rant about shortcomings in life and get people in similar situations support me and make me think it was fine to think and live like that.
I pretty much chitposted on misc and lived a solitary life all through my teens and college life. I got banned when I was 22 and honestly my life improved instantly.. I got my drivers license, got a job and met my future wife in the year post misc. I got unbanned like last year and have started posting more frequently. Honestly, misc doesn't seem to have many teenagers now.. just a bunch of 28-60 year old men and the tone and post themes way more different.
