Agreed. 99.9999% of parents today are horrible. They abandon their kids (school, daycare, kindergarten, camp, babysitter etc.) and then wonder why kids abandon them and don’t like them later. Parents allow too much screen time, not enough sports, terrible nutrition, not enough meat, too much processed garbage and sugar, and then wonder why kids have cavities. Just horrible. No discipline at all, no appreciation for arts, not teaching their kids any important things in life like investing, respecting others, good behavior, arts and classical music, MMA, helping mom with dishes etc. Most kids are fat today also. Popped full of a million vaccines. It’s a freakin disaster.

My son was born naturally with zero drugs, no epidural, no induction, nothing, absolutely nothing. Full term, despite having and beating environmental cancer which is a whole other story, mom is a healthy athlete, so baby popped out like nothing, no pussy tears, quick delivery, like doing a heavy squat, a couple of pushes, done! That’s what happens when a pregnant woman exercises properly, eats right, supplements right, and knows WTF she is doing.

Son never gets sick, sleeps all night long, smart as fuak. Sharp. Strong as fuk. Dude eats mostly meat, breast milk, and raw goat milk. Handsome ****er.

I will teach him music, he already speaks many words at 1 year old in 3 languages. He will learn investing, fighting, shooting, and above all respect and honor. Obviously home school.

Despite having loving parents I wasn't raised great, my mom became a hippy and thought letting kids do whatever they want was best. My dad wasn't but he was at work all day, and too tired to do anything when he came home. He was raised in a poor family with backbreaking work, he probably thought we were set just by avoiding that... So I understand.

I was a gifted kid but did zero studying/chores. Just played video games all day. No positive reinforcement fuks you up for life. Definitely wasted my potential.


The one thing I'm extremely grateful for is them putting me in soccer at a young age, also rugby in school. I would 100% be wincel without those experiences

Kids are fine when you teach them well at home. Morals, values, respect, dignity and to be a thinker.

I think there’s also lots of intangibles as well. Even the best laid plans will crumble in the face of a child’s personal interests, drives, and curiousity. The ability to be flexible and provide counter examples to balance a child’s perspective and help them arrive at conclusions themselves instead of forcing ideologies is critical.

Every kid is different and will have different questions and perspectives which a parent will not have planned for even with the most rigorous of planning. Because the child will yearn for something which you have not shown that arrives as a need as a result of what he was shown!

I really believe love and understanding combined with a willingness to see eye to eye with a child then lead him down a path of ideological understanding is more critical than enforced morals with no reasoning.

I suggest you refine how you present your logical epiphanies so that they properly reflect your point. In the example given with your final sentence you refer to “if you don’t have children” when it should only refer to “if these reasons are why”, or possibly, “if you don’t try to have children”

The reason this is important is because if you are molding a child’s mind to your own ideologies and are unable to distill the ideas into a pure form without relying on external or historically learned data, you will create logical fallacies that your child will believe is truth.

I’m more a plan for as many contingencies as possible, plan on being wrong, and limiting worst possible outcomes type of guy.

I have no problem with my kids growing up in this society because I'm making sure they will excel and have all the best traits to get ahead. For me that means limited screen time (and that was especially true when they were really young), emphasis on reading and math in school so they are miles ahead of their classmates, and strong social skills with things like manners, confidence and physical coordination.

We have meals together always, we play board games like crazy and we do physical activities as much as possible. They also have good routines, and even though I'm divorced their mother and I have a good co-parenting relationship and we are on the same page about a lot of things so they don't see any conflict.

The main problem with parents today is that they would rather plunk their kid in front of Fortnite or Youtube than actually play games with them or hang out at the park with them. And, they are locked into a home with two people that hate each other.

Father here. Kids are 25 and 26. They both speak English, Thai (mom is Thai) and French. Both have STEM related degrees from good schools; daughter Biology and Statistics BS, son Economics and Math BA. Both are musicians and played in college; daughter bass clarinet, clarinet, tenor sax, bari sax. Son Tenor and Bass trombones. Both also know guitar and percussion (from me). Daughter played sports through 10th grade (American Footbal, Volleyball). Son played sports (baseball, swimming, basketball, football, T&F) through college (football, Track and Field throws). They are well rounded, smart, physically fit, and working on their careers. They live at home to save and invest money for the future. Good kids and I'm proud of them.
