‘Rust’ Armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter

Alec Baldwin, I believe, got off with a handslap. Not sure what the civil litigation side of things is doing, surely will not get a punishment nearly close to Trump saying a woman with no evidence against him was lying about it. I mean, all Alec did was kill someone, not like he was a bigot or misogynist, which is clearly worse.

It was a pretty strong case against the armorer, easy to show she was negligent, being that the whole point of her job was to safely manage all of the firearms on set. Turns out she was a moron.
Will be more difficult to prove Baldwin was negligent with the firearms, so they'll argue as producer all responsibility rolled up to him, which a jury might buy. Seems unlikely unless they too have lingering butthurt over Alec's work on SNL.

Whether he gets convicted of anything or not, his career is done. It's not like he's in his prime though anyways. He could maybe finance a few projects, but he's probably already blown a few $ million on lawyers at this point.

He wasn't announced as being part of the Beetlejuice 2 sequel, was he?
His chitlib status aside, he always struck me as a pretty nasty guy. That audio he left for his kid was unreal, I don't care how bad his marriage or divorce was. Plus, didn't he punch a paparazzi?

He played a casino boss in a movie called "The Cooler."
There's a scene where there's a cheating couple, who get taken to a room for "interrogation."
The female is pretending to be pregnant, and Alec Baldwin kicks her in the stomach.
Alec Baldwin was cast specifically with the kicking of the pregnant Charlene scene in mind as the director said that viewers would have an easy time believing Alec is capable of such an act.

It still blows my mind that they're using actual firearms that are capable of being loaded with actual ammunition on a set rather than replicas chambered for blanks that are incapable of being chambered in any real gun. .33 Hollywood or something like that.

To your point on if he was younger, he also wouldn't have been in the seat of a producer and could have played it off as strictly being an ignorant actor. It's a lot harder to do that when you're also directly in the chain of command having corners cut that result in an unsafe work environment.
Like in this case, there wasn't even any logical reason torequirethe use of authentic, fully operational firearms that were not modified to only accept blank cartridges.
There areplentyofarticlesdetailingthe unsafe environment, which the producers weresanctioned against.
In April, New Mexico's Occupational Health and Safety Bureau imposed the maximum fine against Rust Movie Productions and distributed a scathing narrative of safety failures, including testimony that production managers took limited or no action to address two misfires of blank ammunition on set prior to the fatal shooting.
The bureau also documented gun safety complaints from crew members that went unheeded and said weapons specialists were not allowed to make decisions about additional safety training.
Rust Movie Productions responded in its filing by saying that misfires prior to the fatal shooting of Hutchins did not violate safety protocols and that "appropriate corrective actions were taken, including briefings of cast and crew."
"In fact, a safety meeting was held the morning of the incident," the company said, apparently referring to the shooting of Hutchins. The filing does not elaborate further.
That doesn't absolve the armorer in any way, but jackasses like Baldwin create the additional problem where firearms are not treated with respect or caution, which takes the royal piss given his own political stances. The bureau also documented gun safety complaints from crew members that went unheeded and said weapons specialists were not allowed to make decisions about additional safety training.

The wiki entry is closer to what I originally found because good luck trying to find anything with how awful search is these days. Anyways, the main caveat that may or may not even be a hard set requirement is that a real, functional gun being used as a propshouldbe modified so that it can only accept blank rounds. Cue awkward puppet for the Rust set because obviously their prop guns were capable of firing live rounds.
Seriously, only Hollywood could be that retarded to callall guns"prop guns." I wouldn't even be shocked if at least a part of it is to somehow distance themselves from the thing they profit off of today and rally against tomorrow for brownie points like the arrogant kunts they are.
