Thank you BBing.com
I have yet to share the story of my last several years on here, and I guess it’s because I was never one for drama, attention, fake goodbyes, etc.
I lifted for almost 25 years. Met a lot of great people, loved the atmosphere, the people I’ve met along the way and spent a lot of time on the forums chatting about BBing, nutrition, and life. Unfortunately, some things must come to an end.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. It absolutely wrecked my endocrine system, so much so that lifting was no longer a possibility. Exercise in any form causes me to crash and burn within 10-15 mins. It took my appetite with it. My weight plummeted, as did my strength. Along with other medical issues that followed as a result, my life was no longer the same. Recovery is no longer likely. The signs and symptoms have gotten worse, which means the tumor is likely back, so I have an appointment to go back and have another scan.
Depression hit me really hard at one point. I found out that the only thing that helps this particular kind of tumor is THC, which surprisingly helped my depression too. It prevents the crashes as a result of eating (abrupt endocrine overload), gives me an appetite, but my use has to be limited because of resistance, so it’s far from optimal.
My saving grace was God, and a farm we bought when things were not looking good for me. A piece of heaven where things were quiet, and a reason to get out of bed and push through the pain and fatigue. The needs of our livestock keep me motivated to keep going every day, and of course, my family.
I have no intentions on completely leaving the board, but my posts will likely become less and less. In the meantime, I’m just going to be chugging along and running the farm the best I can. Whatever comes, comes. I’ve certainly not given up, as new friends, family, establishing a relationship with family we were never close to, and new ventures are def enough to keep my spirits up.
If things turn around for me, I’ll likely start posting regularly angain and continue being a PITA.
For now, I just need to focus on life.

As others have said, that was a real gut punch to read. You are a great poster and I always appreciate how deep into detail you go for lots of your posts. Always well written and covering areas many people wouldn't have thought or known about. You definitely add unique perspectives.
Sorry to hear man. Hope things work out.

I’ve had family members with cancer, my advice is to force yourself to eat, you need food to survive. I hope the cancer goes into remission.

HEre brah:

And THC, am surprised it has that effect. Most assume it is just for pot heads or stoners. BUt I know most use it for issues on what you are facing, pain, sleep, anxiety.

On spread, but best of luck to you. I’m glad you’ve gained your relationship with God and that you can be closer to nature on your farm. Sounds like you’ve lived a good life, so no reason to give up on living yet!

Thanks for sharing, probably shed a manly tear or two writing that, I shed one reading it. I sent up a prayer for you, people beat cancer every day and I'm praying you are one of them. PM me for emotional support anytime.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.
