Why are HOAs so up tight about things ?

Recently got an email stating something to the effect of : yeah we were observing the parking lots and noticed some cars with expired registration or out of province plates , this info is usually turned over to the police "

Why would it be the HOAs concern if people kept up with their plate registration? I mean they must have only found 1 or 2..

Because they're an arm of the government that does the govt's bidding, much like corporations.

I seen a guy get written up , or fined for not putting his BBQ cover back on after he used it .
A storm hit so he didn’t bother at the moment . Crazy thing is the Karen from the HOA had to intentionally go threw his back yard gate into his yard to see it .
Fk HOA , it’s just a place for Karen’s to congregate. No wonder people in the US get shot

I dont understand why people whine about hoas.

Its not lik eyou wake up one day and out of nowhere there is an hoa. You intentionally moved into a place you knew had one. You get what you wanted.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

But I'm not complaining . I'm just wondering what car registration has to do with it

Yeah I've been in an hoa for 1.5 years so far no major complaints but my building tends to have a lot of old Karens

and because of their NPC "straight-and-narrow" personality they were always beat up and picked on, and because they were too pussy to become a cop, Their way of getting back at society is to become the leader of an HOA.

As for their day job they're the employee that tries to micromanage everything and tell on co-workers that take too long of a lunch break.

The worst part is, they think everyone likes them.

And I bought the place at 28~ . Its not like I could exactly double what I could afford to pay and end up in a single detached house somewhere with no rules ...in the same quality of neighborhood

Would never buy a home with HOA, might as well just live in apartments
Sit in my car on Friday nights so my cat thinks I have a social life crew

Yeah . Nothing major has happened. Got a warning once for smoking pot but everybody on the floor got the same one.
Most greasy thing they did to me was tow my buddy's car because he parked in the visitor parking over night without signing some log in the lobby .

But other than that I just go about my normal business
