I know its ultra lib john oliver, but sometimes he covers neutral topics and the episode about Boeing was pretty good. Also makes it concerning the decline of quality Boeing is going through.

And the federal employees who are supposed to ensure the quality of these planes, apparently don't have the technical background to be at all effective at their job.

to be fair he can burn in hell and I refuse to support him with any views. IDGAF if he straight up turns into a maga republican. He's a main instrument of the swamp and deserves to rot.

The only time he's being critical of anyone is to either support his own side or extort someone into supporting his side. Pretty sure boeing just didn't "contribute" enough to stay off Oliver's master's list.

You're playing Russian Roulette with your life if you fly on a Boeing atm. Why? This is one of the consequences of regulatory capture. Who promoted regulatory capture? GOP.


You can find plenty of aviation experts and enthusiasts who have said this. They've had a corporate culture profit obsession since their merger. Boeing is run as if it were a Walmart which is terrible since people can die. They have plenty of talented engineers but they get shafted by corporate culture BS.


Basically, the FAA outsources their regulatory oversight to Boeing and Boeing just assess themselves. Hence, they give their own craft the greenlight. That's what happened with the 737 getting its door ripped off in mid flight. In aviation you can lose public trust in seconds, it will take massive amounts of work to get back to where they were.


Doors ripped off, planes losing height over the Pacific Ocean.....don't fly Boeing atm.

I got banned for saying the word ****** and I also just got a ban for a few days for drawing some wee-wees in MS Paint. I thought it was pretty ridiculous, but hey, if they're gonna cut down on the incessant insulting, I can gladly sit out a few days if it means massive improvement.

I never specifically mention my age, although I make no bones I am middle aged. You giving out very specific personal information is unwelcome and the first time you did it, I let it slide, second meh who cares, third time - it was a habit that needed breaking. You, who have a father who fought in WW2 according to your own testimony, of all people should have the aged wisdom to know better, but I'm glad to see that finally the lesson has taken root.

Now, if only you could accept the other lessons, about being a more respectful and better poster, then you'd be making real progress.

Anachron did not get a perm, he's back to posting. Both with him and you, it was only temporary.
