Anybody on here doing SHTF prep?

Trying to get my own loadout similar to what we get issued from IIF.

Currently just scored a massive amount of TQs and getting other medical supplies from a friend corpsman.
Brother just bought a Glock 19x and im thinking of sticking with the same M4 platform since im fairly comfortable and familiar with it.

Trying to score some level 3 armor and finish the little things from the utillity belt and plate carrier.

Literally doing more this week.

Have 2 fullsized backpacking Bugout Bags, and one micro BOB, so I decided to enbiggen the small bob into a full sized backpack to keep in a car.

Found an unused Swiss Gear backpack for only $10 at goodwill, and have been buying all sorts of fire starting equipment UCO stormproof matches, fire starts etc) more fishing kits (went from having 3, to 5 full fishing kits the size of a hockey puck each).


Bought a bunch more Mountain House freeze dried meals, plus liptons type meals to add to the food stocks.


Got a nice pickup truck recently for bugging out overland if needed.



I only have 3 IFAKs, so I need to buy more Israeli bandages, bleedstop, and stuff like that to make my other newer BOBs have enough med supplies.

it's very easy to go way too far down this rabbit hole and become obsessive/spend too much $$ (unless you're a misc $10k/day ceo).

I've limited myself and actually gotten rid of various supplies.

But I have a bug-out bag for each member of the family.

I have antibiotics stored, antifungals, water purification materials, and a variety of other medications both prescription and OTC.

I have food and bottled water stored to last approximately ~10 to 12 weeks for me and my entire family.


Weaponry includes 3 pistols (2 Glocks and a snub-nose revolver), a remmington 870, AR-15, and a 308 winchester hunting rifle.

if the above isnt enough, then so be it.

I think this is the ideal situation
There's no reason to go anywhere and if it actually came down to it i would make it a point to hold my ground and protect whats mine

Speaking of that, I got Les Stroud's survival book, haven't read too much of it, but I only have 2 main survival books, his, and the Army Field Manual on survival (a must have).
