When is it time to sell the PC and just buy a console?

Mid 30's now. Full time office job, Mrs, gym.....I'm really starting to CBF playing games on PC with whatever spare time I have. I have a top tier rig and I still cbf with it.

Is it time to sell and just buy a PS5?

I have a high end PC too and barely play anything. Too many issues and not many games coming out. I pretty much just play Halo and Forza over and over.

I kind of miss how everything just works on console and how quick it is.

What does a console do that PC can't, or what's easier on a console than a PC?
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

I think I'm just at an age where I'm over it.
Getting home from gym and work you kind of just want the couch and TV.

Getting HDR to work is a hassle.
Performance Issues.
Console just works hey.

Only thing that keeps me attached to my PC is my Audiophile setup....but I can easily move that and play music from my phone these days.

PS5 to OLED TV crew.

Grab controller, jump on couch, press 1 button and you're playing a game in seconds. No updates, no crashes, no troubleshooting for an hour, no fiddling with a ton of settings to get maximum nerds per second. I was on PC for 10 years and just couldn't be fukked with all the hassle anymore.

Yeah i have never had an issue on a console. On PC i've had thousands. The games just aren't optimized and HDR is broken in Windows. Shaders and updates can take 10 minutes on PC too. On console you don't have to wait.

Maybe gaming just isn't for you. If you have some game installed on your PC and don't want to play it then I doubt buying a console will change much.

Here we go again with your potatostation shilling telling old lies about PCs. It's time you shut the f*ck up. Games nowadays have hardware detection and will automatically set everything to max if your pc is powerful enough. Consoles need to update too, and you can actually use your pc while it updates.

Moron.

OP, If you don't like playing games anymore on pc, a console won't change that.

I'm sure someone here can help better than me, I'm not in the USA so not the best to ask on selling prices. Trust me though you'll be grateful for the switch over. I'm on my computer fairly often at work too, shifting over to a console when at home doesn't feel like work anymore.

Being an adult is why console gaming sucks, I have the money for big boy pc parts. Even if I barely play I'd rather it be on pc.

I'd still rather just build a PC for the living room and play using a controller.

I do have both consoles tho. They are beat af

PC gaming sucks now though. The games aren't optimized and HDR barely works. It literally makes no sense to be gaming on PC unless all you care about is high FPS or the absolute best graphics which isn't even that obtainable now because you need to keep paying 1k for gpus lol

Windows 11 and the newest nvidia app with the hdr ai is literally miles better for hdr. Get off windows 10 ASAP.

I use 3 hdr monitors and never have an issue on any of them since Windows 11. Nvidia ai chit turns non hdr games into hdr.

Consoles are finenif you're lazy but there's no real gaming to be done there. If you want a casual couch pleb experience and don't play much a console is fine. If you want to play games at their peak the get a PC.

Theres no wrong answer, just get what suits you.

If you are an adult there's no reason you shouldn't be able to afford a console to sit in your media center regardless of you pc game or not. I have both ps5 and Xbox even tho I don't care for them and prefer pc. But I'm not a broke bitch so buying a console isn't a big deal. I don't expect everyone to spend thousands on a PC, but 500 bucks for a console really shouldn't be chit to a grown man

Windows 11 doesn't even have ALLM either so you have to toggle HDR on. There are just so many issues with it. They don't optimize gaming for PC at all anymore lmao.

You can still lay back in your chair with a joypad in your hands if you hook up your PC to a TV.

Consoles are locking FPS at 30, or the games can get updated to a point that console can't run the game smoothly. There are PS4 players who get lower frames on NMS. Elite Dangerous went from updating on all platforms to only releasing PC content.

Console gaming is for getting that old PS2 or 3 out and playing old versions of exclusive titles because you can't play the game on the store or the remaster sucks/is broken.

IDK, if you really have a high end rig (RTX 3080 or better, modern i7/i9, or AMD equivalent on these) then the consoles are just too low power to consider. I saw that Dragon's Dogma 2 appears to only have 24-35 FPS on PS5 from play testers.

Besides, you can still get a Xbox Elite Controller, Windows controller adapter, and then just plug the PC into a TV. At that point you can just access the Game Bar on your Windows OS and it connects you with all your friends on PC and Xbox that way.

Platform probably doesn't matter tbh. I cba to play any games anymore, takes too much effort and time just learning the basics. And even simple, fun games like Tekken or sports games is only fun when you're investing enough time to develop some skills in them. If I can't play a minimum amount then I'd rather just not bother. Between work/studies, SO and training there is only so much time, and I should probably spend it on things that needs doing around the house or at least being social instead of playing games.
