Gaming has gotten so bad they can't even remaster 20 year old games anymore
When your brand new remaster is worse than the 20 year old versions you supposedly remastered. I think it's safe to say most of the talent has left this industry.

Maybe just be thankful they made good games fully operable on modern hardware/software without needing to download some kind of patch or hotfix from a mod community? Not acceptable for a re-release, but I'm sure they'll fix it.
The remake of D2 was amazing, especially with the QoL fixes from the original.
The remaster of Star Ocean: Second Story is also a masterpiece, and I don't need to dig up my old PS1 to play it anymore. It's on Steam forever.

Reminds me of the mass effect legendary edition where all the did was remove all good shots of Miranda’s ass, completely removed a dlc, and added a texture pack worse than the ones that came out when the games first came out on pc.

gaming industry went overboard with it becoming overly profit focused. yeah of course the entire point of game companies was always to make money but its also an artistic endeavor and that side has been abandoned for profits. only projects that can make them the most money get pushed, this last gen has been trash, everything on ps5 is really just a a ps4 game with higher resolution, its not even using the system to its potential.
the companies are making some bad mistakes too. Its absurd that psvr2 wasnt backwards compatible when the rest of the console is, they had a decent following on last gen and now that is abandoned and no new VR games are really out, that was a dumb mistake on their part.
ps5 pro is coming out and i could give a fuk, who cares. If this was ps3 era and a pro was coming out I would be super hyped but these days? meh

The problem with gaming these days is that graphics advanced exponentially, unfortunately gameplay and storytelling didn't quite advance at the same rate.
