Anyone ever read 'The Art of Seduction' by Robert Greene?
Coworker of mine says it's probably his favorite book. He loves manipulation, so of course a book about manipulation would be right up his alley. Sounded interesting, so he let me borrow it. The author also wrote 48 laws of power (which is banned in prison).
I'm not far in at all, but the preface and first few pages are pretty interesting so far.
Anyone aware?

Yes, I own the books in his "Amoral series" and I also have a copy of "The 50th Law" that he did with 50 Cent.
It's an interesting read if you want learn how to have more social influence. But men interpret the word "Seduction" as being just only for sexual courtship, sadly sexual courtship is entirely based on looks so this book won't help in that regard.
The core of Greene's Art of Seduction (whether social, political or sexual) is this:
1. Identify a target that has something missing in their life, or has some sort of need
2. Present yourself as having that which they need
3. Play to their ego and make them feel like they're the center of the world.
Donald Trump is a master of this. He knows how to play to people's ego.
Example: Trump famously called Kim Jong Un "Rocketman" as a diss... but when KJU started showing signs that he'd be willing to cooperate with Trump, Trump then pivoted and called him a "smart cookie" and KJU was flattered by it.
KJU even invited Trump to do a photo-op on the NK side of the border - Trump is the first sitting US President to ever set foot in NK and take a pic with a NK leader.. all this was accomplished by playing to KJU's ego.
So as you can see, Greene doesn't limit "seduction" to just sexual seduction.

i haven't actually read it properly but i've skimmed it. he has another book called 'The Subtle Art of Not giving a ****' which is very highly regarded

Imagine an incel reading this book and thinking he’d be able to beat the 80/20 Chad dating rule. Once an incel always an incel. The only difference this book would make is Chad getting puzzy with looks or Chad being manipulated for pussy when he already had looks.

If manipulation is the end goal, then you dont' need to read Greene's books to understand how to manipulate people:
Step 1: Find out what it is they want
Step 2: Have whatever it is they want
Step 3: Give them a list of things they must do if they want to get it.
That's it, if you don't have what they want, there's literally nothing you can do to manipulate them.
Example: A homeless guy has a snowball's chance in hell of manipulation because he ain't got a dime to his name, he has no social connections and he offers nothing.
Manipulation isn't that difficult to understand conceptually, but to implement it requires a lot of effort because you have to possess something that's desired.
