They did a very good job of adapting pre-written source material, although the deeper they got into it, I think the less accurate they got with picking and choosing which story lines and characters to promote or gloss over (like, yeah Bronn didn't need to be in every episode).
Without a good source material, they put out some of the worst television in history. Not sure I trust them to invest my time into something new, with so much good stuff out there. (note: as I read the thread, it is based off a book which at least one miscer said was good)
Still speaking of actually good TV for sure, on that note: Watch Shogun.
