The Acolyte: The End of the Girlboss

The Acolyte appears to be some new Star Wars Disney+ offering, full of the usual.

Hey now! These films require DEI experts and consultants and you can’t pay bottom dollar for such a vital responsibility

Scubastevo :-What percentage of women have STDs? (serious) If I just wanted to go bareback with any girl that I could get with, what are my chances of ending up bed ridden with STDs?

Their shows have been pretty decent. Much better than the last 3 movies. I expect Acolyte to end up being pretty good. I'm sure people will downvote and review bomb it simply because it has a trans character, but I don't care if there is a trans char or not.
Their shows have been pretty decent? That's why the majority of them only get one season?

Speaking of shows, a lot of right wingers wrote off Halo because Season 1 was "woke". Well, Season 2 has been fuking great, and the finale was amazing.
Those are all TV shows? The only one I ever heard of was The Mandalorian. And you've watched all of them? But why?

Anyway, the girlboss is dying. Projects already in production will still get made and released because it's too late to shelve or completely rewrite, but it's toward the end of the girlboss era. Flop flop, floppity flop. Women aren't interested in these films for one thing, just like they're not interested in the WNBA. There have been a lot of these flops, but the combo flop of The Marvels and Madame Web has changed things.

WNBA vs Desperate Housewives of ______, WNBA vs The Kardashians. Gee, which gets more attention from women? It turns out focusing on the story interests all audiences more than revolving the script around the lead be a badass bitch, who has no hero's journey.
Yeah Buddyyy! Light weight! Light weight baby!!!!

Full disclosure, I haven't watched any of this chit.

I think Wincel is just biased towards this DEI stuff, I don't get it or understand. It's striking here, because he's talked about some of the things he is entertained by, he's a smart guy and it's not a bunch of low-IQ muck, the DEI bullchit aside, but just poorly written, directed and directed garbage. Which much of this Disney stuff seems to be (also poorly acted, but not always, they still draw in talented actors for these parts).

Or he's basing it a lot on the one actually more competent show, Andor, and just kind of memory-holing all the Kenobi, late season Mandalorian, Ahsoka and whatever else I'm just forgetting.
